 Education For The Poor

Education For The Poor, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was established by a group of professionals who aspired to provide a long term cure to the poverty situation in Vietnam by giving educational assistance to the poor. To maximize the impact of our assistance, we concentrate our efforts on only a few areas that immediately and directly benefit students, namely providing scholarships and improving the English skills and education of the underprivileged.

In light of the recent influx of foreign investments into Vietnam and the increasing globalization of the world’s economic order, English has become crucial to forging a better future. In regard to improving the English skills and education of underprivileged students, Education For The Poor has started to send volunteers to teach English in Vietnam during the summer since 2006. The program benefits many students, especially during the last few years when approximately 1500 students were able to participate in the program every summer. In addition to English, we also hosted a short session in Accounting to further improve our students’ chance to find a job with foreign companies. Finally, to help students expand their knowledge base, gain up-to-date knowledge of technological advancements, and continue improving their English skills year-round, we have also initiated the creation of Educational Learning Centers.

In regard to scholarships, Education For The Poor holds the belief that we need to "cultivate a tree until it yields fruits", and as such we continue to give scholarships to recipients until they graduate.

Education For The Poor would like to give underprivileged students equal footing in the search of a better future. But to fulfill our mission, we need your support. Your contributions not only benefit underprivileged students, but also the many generations to come - their children and their children’s children because these students’ success will end the intergenerational transmission of poverty that they have previously endured. Please donate now. All contributions are tax deductible
